driven to desperation:
falling leaves dance

一息入れて渋茶に羊羹
well, let’s take a rest
have some bitter tea and yokan

3.
みあげればとろり半月春が来て
look up and you’ll see
the half moon melting
spring is here

4.
霞を払う一陣の風
a gust of wind
sweeps a haze away

5.
すべからく銭で量って得意顔
he converts anything into money
and does it very triumphantly

6.
一つ二つと丑三つ時
counting?one, two,
three o’clock midnight

7.
いつの日か君が琴線ふれたくて
wishing I could touch
your heartstrings
some day

8.
花よ月よと幾春秋過ぐ
oh flowers, ah the moon
how many years I ‘ve spent for

9.
光陰は矢の如くとび時間切れ
time flew like an arrow
then it ran out

10.
空梅雨のあとはすぐさま野分なり
soon after a dry monsoon
an attack of tyhoon followed
